Business networking in Lewes with First Friday
09 April 2010
I went to a business network event in Lewes today. It was a good event in a really nice pub: The Volunteer.
I met several interesting business men and women:
Verity Crosbie Frost is a Forensic Accountant. She helps sort out the fallout of complex divorces, whereby assets may be misrepresented or hidden. Verity provides her services to make sure the aftermath of divorces is fairer.
Stuart Arnold from Abeo IT Solutions helps businesses and home users improve their usage of IT. He offers cost effective solutions to anyone who needs to get out more out of their IT system, advising them on what works, what doesn't and what can work better.
Ian Cameron from Print to Order can handle a wide variety of print jobs, whether it's for business cards, brochures or leaflets. It was really interesting to learn Ian has spent several years in Saudi Arabia before starting his business. While there, he picked up some Arabic and learnt a lot about the Arabic culture. I'm thinking of supporting Arabic with my multilingual website builder and Ian gave me some valuable insight into the direction I may want to take.
Kelly Scales recently launched a brand new web based business: Bid and Borrow. This new website has only been live for a month but has already attracted 2000 hits! It was very interesting to learn more about the marketing strategy of Bid and Borrow and I'll be using some of what I learnt in my own marketing. One of the driving factors behind getting so much traction was to advertise Bid and Borrow service on Gum Tree.
